Just slightly for the nasdaq we got to the 2. 6 level in terms of yields. Just pulled back the last couple of days from that level, but rising again today 2. 63 the yield on the tenyear holding nicely above the 2. 6 level. Dollar board for you, we lost about 0. 2 yesterday the dollar is sliding significantly today. Steven mnuchin did say on the ground in davos that a weak dollar is good for u. S. Exports. Its partly that, but really just a continuation of the trend of a weak dollar weve seen recently in europe, weve got about a third of a percent move higher for the euro we had some composite pmi numbers that came out, 58. 6 ahead of forecasts of 57. 9 the highest level in 139 month
Closed at a record today after a rocky day of trading. It moved in a wide range. It rose more than 180 points on the open this morning. Downs that down about 100 points mid afternoon. Early optimism fade after a top apple analyst questioned their future. Shares of apple fell. The rest of the tech sector followed. And it capped gains for the market as well. When all was said and down the dow rose to 26252. The nasdaq was down by 45. And the s p lost one point. General electric didnt help matters. It was the worst performing stock on the dow index falling 2. 5 after disappointing quarterly results. And they had another surprise for shareholders. Call it another kitchen sink quarter. General electric missed expectations and announced an s. E. C. Investigation into their 15 billion insurance charge. They are saying the investigation is early and not unexpected given the magnitude of that charge. Still it spooked wall street. Even analysts with buy ratings on the stock found little to be op
