DANVILLE, Va. – Police have a 20-year-old man in custody in connection with the death of Jaylan Fitzgerald last week in Danville.
Earlquan Williams faces a charged of second-degree murder and was arrested at his home on Wednesday afternoon.
Fitzgerald’s body was found on Feb. 3 in the 600 block of Cabell Street.

DANVILLE, Va. – A 19-year-old has been charged with Wednesday’s murder on Cabell Street but police say they do not think he acted alone.
Police are searching for Avion Burton of Danville, who is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of 21-year-old Jaylan Fitzgerald. Burton remains at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.
Someone phoned 911 about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 3 to report a man was lying on the pavement in the 600 block of Cabell Street, suffering from a gunshot wound. Fitzgerald died at the scene.
Danville Police say they received community support and quickly developed Burton as a suspect.
