[Internet] How to convince Bell Fibe to allow SMTP TCP:25 inbound Since I am on Bell Fibe, with my internal E-Mail server listening on TCP/25 (SMTP) for my own domain, SMTP inbound no longer reaches my server as it is blocked by Bell. HTTP/HTTPS, SIP keep being forwarded but not SMTP. I have put in place some ugly workarounds, basically changing the MX record mapping in DNS to point to a TCP forwarding instance in a public cloud, which remaps the port. Bell has an ages-old so-called justification in their FAQ (»Bell Canada Internet FAQ) allegedly to limit risk of forwarding spam. However it makes no sense - if you look at Azure, Amazon, Google - true, they block TCP/25 outbound but not inbound. Same for other ISP like Teksavvy. That s more than enough to block spam. What can therefore be done to convince Bell to give up this antiquated policy of blocking inbound SMTP, which personally I find ridiculous. Unless they want to force everyone to use the Sympatico E-Mail service.
