On the invitation of the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Hon. Rodwell Ferguson, Minister of Youth, Sports, and Transport, visited Taiwan as a part of a delegation comprised of Formosa Club members from Taiwan English-speaking Caribbean diplomatic allies.
The Government of Belize has approved the removal of all fees charged in public hospitals, a pivotal decision aimed at ensuring universal access to quality healthcare. This move eliminates financial barriers and enhances healthcare accessibility for all citizens, particularly low-income families.
Belize was represented at the 35th Meeting of the Parties (MOP35) of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Depletes the Ozone Layer by Anthony Mai, Chief Environmental Officer; Cindy Cunil, National Ozone Officer Assistant of the Department of the Environment; and Amir Cass, President of the Association of Refrigeration and Air Condition Technicians of Belize. The event was held in Nairobi, Kenya, from October 23 to 27, 2023.
Today, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise, in collaboration with Orange Walk Technical High School and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), celebrated World Food Day 2023. This year’s activities were celebrated under the theme, “Water is Life, Water is Food – Leave No One Behind,” which underscores the critical role of water in food production and the commitment to ensuring equitable access to food for all.
Today, the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management, through the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO), signed four memorandums of understanding with partner organizations, namely, the Belize Red Cross, the Scout Association of Belize, the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), and the Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB).
