The government must rebuild dozens of homes it demolished near East London International Airport at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic after the state attorney’s office botched an appeal against a judgment ordering it to do so.
A desperate East London community has roped in deputy president Paul Mashatile to help solve its electricity woes. Community members wrote to Mashatile, telling him about the lack of electricity which forced them to make illegal electricity connections. Mashatile’s office replied to a letter from the Bhongweni community near King Phalo Airport, urging BCM to keep him in the loop on the matter.
