News of their plight reached Yvonne Nevejean, leader of the Children s National Care Authority in Belgium. The organization fought and saved the lives of some 150 children. The twins were flown to Canada in 1947 in a group of 1,116 youngsters and adopted by Edmonton s Harry and Lillian Cohen. Supplied
