It s never easy accepting when things just aren t going to work out, be it a relationship, a job or when a beloved local business has to shut down.
What s worse is when it happens at a time when things seem to be on the upswing, in this case for local businesses. Over the last 10 months, Columbia small businesses have managed better than other places, whether it is being awarded small business grants, support from understanding landlords or coming up with new ways to provide for their customers.
And that s not including all of the new businesses which have opened in town over the past year, something almost unheard of in 2020.
