Soyuz political party denied registration in Belarus MINSK, 4 May (BelTA) - The Belarusian Justice Ministry decided against the state registration of the political party Soyuz, BelTA learned from the press service of the ministry. When studying the documents submitted for state registration, it was found out that the founders violated the established order of setting up a political party and submitted an invalid document. According to the Justice Ministry, the Belarusian legislation requires at least 1,000 founders (members) from the majority of the country s regions and Minsk to establish a political party. The founders of the political party Soyuz were 1,023 people. “During a random check of the information on the persons in the list of founders of the political party (150 out of 1,023 founding members were checked), it was found in respect to 26 people that there were no persons with the listed personal data,” the press service said.
