"We must unite, work together. We do work together at all venues. We help each other. We do not say ‘sanctions'. We say ‘blockade'. This is what the West is doing in respect to Belarus and Russia. Belarus and Russia are an example of how they can unite to combat these sanctions," Ambassador Santiago Perez Benitez said.
The address was adopted following the meeting of the working group on cooperation with the Parliament of the Republic of Cuba at Belarus' National Assembly with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba to Belarus Santiago Perez Benitez.
"Cuba is our closest ally and partner on the Latin American continent. It was in Cuba that Belarus opened its first embassy in Latin America. In the context of geopolitical struggle and geopolitical divisions, Belarus and Cuba are the beacons that the world is looking at. Belarus has been under sanctions for more than a dozen years, and Cuba - for more than 60 years. The national idea is what unites us," said Sergei Klishevich.
