MINSK, 16 April (BelTA) – Belarus Labor and Social Security Minister Irina Kostevich and Deputy Labor and Social Security Minister Ivan Lavrinovich got a shot of the first Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine rolled out by the Belarusian pharmaceutical company Belmedpreparaty, BelTA informs citing the ministry.
The minister emphasized that vaccination is the most important contributor to the fight against the coronavirus infection. Work is underway to vaccinate social security workers along with health workers. “Vaccines have been delivered to 75% of the elderly and disabled people living in care homes and more than 40% of the staff. Irina Kostevich noted that families with children in Belarus receive multi-faceted support: benefits, guarantees, which are formalized in the labor legislation, tax benefits, health benefits, and school meal subsidies. The priority is large families. “The program “Large Families of Belarus” sets forth a goal that we must achieve. By the way, in 2016-2020, more than Br10 billion was allocated to finance government benefits for families raising children. Number of large families in Belarus up 40% over past five years

BARANOVICHI, 28 December (BelTA) – The number of large families in Belarus grew by 40% in 2015-2020, Belarus Labor and Social Security Minister Irina Kostevich said as she met with families from Baranovichi District and Baranovichi on 28 December, BelTA has learned.
The family capital program was launched in 2015. Since then, the number of large families has soared by 40% to 112,000. Brest Oblast is in the lead in terms of the number of large families by region.
“According to our analysis, the family capital program has proven effective. On average, 20,000-22,000 third and subsequent children are born every year.
