Belarus interested in developing mutually beneficial cooperation with Pakistan

MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) - Belarus views Pakistan as a promising partner and is interested in developing mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation, Belarus Energy Minister, the chairman of the Belarusian part of the joint Belarusian-Pakistan commission on trade and economic cooperation Viktor Karankevich said as he welcomed the participants of the meeting of the Belarusian-Pakistan Business Council in the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelNPP), BelTA learned from the press service of the Energy Ministry. The relations between our countries are based on trust, friendship, mutual respect for the interests. Bilateral political ties are being developed, economic contacts are growing stronger, including at the business level, the minister said.
BelNPP s first unit generates 1.8bn kWh of electricity
MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) – The first power unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP) has generated 1.8 billion kWh of electricity since its connection to the country s power grid, Belarus Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich said in an interview to Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“Some 1.800 billion kWh has been produced since the commissioning of the first unit and its connection to the Belarusian power system. The unit is currently at the stage of pilot operation, during which the appropriate tests and routine work are being carried out. The total number of tests performed is 309 out of 394. When all the tests are successfully completed, we will move on to comprehensive testing of the unit. This means operation at nominal power of the reactor unit for 15 days,” said Viktor Karankevich.
BelNPP produces 1.5 billion kWh of electricity
MINSK, 26 February (BelTA) – The first unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP) has produced 1.5 billion kWh of electricity since it was connected to the grid, Belarus Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich told the media, BelTA has learned.
“Currently, the first unit is undergoing a stage of pilot operation. It has produced the first 1.5 billion kWh of electricity since it was connected to the grid,” Viktor Karankevich said. “We are planning to complete the pilot operation stage with the dynamic tests and proceed to the comprehensive trial run of the 15-day operation at full nominal capacity,” he noted.
ENSREG: Belarus provides access to all BelNPP facilities
MINSK, 10 February (BelTA) - Experts of the European Commission and the European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG) accomplished all the tasks during their visit to the site of Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP), Head of the expert group, Director General of Finland s Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK) Petteri Tiippana told the media, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry.
The experts worked at the BelNPP site on 9-10 February as part of a peer review of the national plan of action following the results of stress tests conducted at the plant.
