run by a toddler. that s your headline. your words. why would you say that? and what s the thinking there? well, it wasn t those were my words, richard. but what i was doing was looking through the thousands of pages of depositions this week from the not just the questions from the democrats but even the questions from the republicans and from the administration officials. they seem to be all describing how they were walking on eggshells. they were trying to sort of manipulate the president to do the right thing, though he s disinclined to do the right thing. he s ripping up pieces of paper. he s yelling. he doesn t seem to have a grasp on this. he s following conspiracy theories. so i really liken it to them all trying to make sure he doesn t do the geopolitical equivalent of sticking his finger in the electrical sockets. and even when you listen to the republicans asking the question and saying, you know, if you could get inside of president trump s head, if you really believe
time taking john bolton seriously. that s always been the case. but especially, now. i think on non-substantive grounds or at least in terms of this scandal, john bolton is clear from the testimony that has been released has tried to keep this drug deal, in his words, at arm s length. he has tried to stay away from this during his time in government. he wanted, as he said, nothing to do with it. that s pretty well-corroborated by multiple witnesses. i think the question becomes if he actually does have information that would be so revealing and revealtory, why not just go forward to the committee and and provide that? after all, we ve had other white house witnesses, including two one current and one former senior white house official and then an official from the office of the vice president go forward. actually defying the wishes of president trump and his white house counsel in doing so. so why doesn t john bolton just follow that path? it doesn t really make sense on
performance at that ceremony where he just uttered a four-letter word. i think the point he makes is actually a profound one. what makes a successful gangster, not that i know very much about the subject, is you keep your friends very close and you make your enemies really fear you. when you think about america s place in the world today, just think about what happened in syria. our friends detest us and our enemies don t fear us. that alone is proof of gangster incompetence. to end this question of the current president and administration, basil smikle, you don t own the url for bloomberg. i don t. somebody does here, dot org. we ll get to that. but you worked for bloomberg and his campaign before. will he have a stickiness? will he be able to do this? two issues here, one, does he have a path? there s a role far city mayor on a national debate stage.
