A handcuffed accused has fled police custody in Begumganj upazila in Noakhali.
Babu (26) is an accused in an abduction case filed with Begumganj Police Station, said Md Kamruzzaman Sikdar, officer-in-charge of the police station.
The OC said a police team arrested Babu from his house in Bhadri village yesterday afternoon.
The handcuffed accused managed to flee from police custody while he was being taken to the police station, said the police official.
Later, several police teams conducted an overnight drive to arrest him but failed.
The accused could not be arrested till filing this report this evening, reports our Noakhali correspondent.

A woman, who had filed two cases against four people for gang-raping her daughter, was arrested today after her daughter alleged that she had forced her into prostitution.
Police arrested the woman in Begumganj upazlia of Noakhali.
Begumganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (investigation) Ruhul Amin filed the case against the woman, a local UP chairman and five others at the police station today after the victim gave a statement against them, reports our Noakhali correspondent.
The victim s mother on Thursday (February 25) filed two separate cases at Begumganj Police Station against four people for raping her daughter, a 17-year-old madrasa student.
