Cooraclare, Co. Clare, Ireland, March 5th, 2021 – Ireland’s first modern Whiskey Bonder has announced an apparel release for International Women’s Day in collaboration with Irish Designer Begley & Bowie.
The project shines a light on historic County Clare woman, Biddy Early, placing her alongside women world-renowned throughout history for their social, scientific and cultural contributions.
A portion of profits from the sale of the clothing will be donated to Women for Election, an Irish non-profit that trains and supports women to succeed in political life.
Louise McGuane, founder of the Cooraclare based Whiskey Bonder, speaking today on the announcement:
“This campaign is inspired by Biddy Early, a renowned 19th century herbalist in County Clare. As a poor, uneducated, catholic woman, she achieved recognition far beyond what her situation would traditionally yield. She gave hope to those without means and took a stand against local landlords and Church power
