• Through March 21, My Community: Through the Eyes of the 21st-Century African American Child is open in the Massillon Museum s Fred F. Silk Community Room. The photography exhibition by fifth- to eighth-grade students. Exhibitions may be visited from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. • The city of Green’s Drug Task Force is launching a scholarship for college or other continuing education for a Green Local School student impacted by drug or alcohol abuse. The Drug Task Force is currently seeking donations to the scholarship funds and plans to award a 2021 Green High School graduate the first scholarship award. Individuals and organizations interested in donating to the Green Drug Task Force Scholarship Fund may send checks to the Green Schools Foundation, PO Box 104, Green, Ohio 44232. Checks should be made out to the Green Schools Foundation (include Drug Task Force Scholarship in memo line). Green High School seniors interested in applying for the $1,000 scholarship may apply online at www.cityofgreen.org/DrugTaskForce. Application deadline is April 30. Beech Creek Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve, 11929 Beech St. NE, Alliance, is hosting a virtual fundraiser by auctioning off 32 gift baskets now through March 28 using the online auction platform 32auctions. The online basket fundraiser is replacing raffle at the annual Garden Symposium, which has been canceled this year due to the pandemic.
The baskets are being auctioned off in groups of five and six, with items donated by local businesses, such as restaurants, salons, TerraKi Teaware, Pet Supplies Plus, Stark Parks, Hartville Hardware, garden centers and Ameriprise Financial, among others.
There are two auctions a week, each auction running for three days. Each week, the two separate auctions run from 7 a.m. Tuesday through 9 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday through 9 p.m. Sunday.
