I literally got here the seconds to spare because i was swimming the hudson with pete, and i know the suits a little wet, but i wasnt swimming with pete. I could never get within a mile of that but god bless him. All right lets get the latest on where we stand on this with Mark Meredith not on the swimming in the hudson but the president and his plans to issue these executive orders. Mark what do you think . Neil good morning to you. I would make it in the hudson either. Congress to help struggling americans. Yesterday with members of his private new jersey guolf club looking on, the president signed a series of executive actions he claims will provide aid to millions of americans in need but the reality is, the documents signed in big black marker cant provide anywhere near the help that a bill from congress could. One action set a weekly federal unemployment benefit of 400, 200 less than before and states have to contribute 25 for americans to qualify. Another action suggests federal agencies quote consider some eviction protections. The catch is the tax doesnt prohibit any evictions. A third action defers the payroll tax for workers that earn less than 100,000 a year, the catch is the government could simply choose to collect that money at a later date. And all of this is to say nothing of the looming constitutional questions. Republican senator ban sass said the pen and phone therapy is unconstitutional slop and quote President Trump does not have

And i think we could outline how we could outsmart something without a brain but were not doing such a great job right now.
This is cavuto live so glad to ou with us. Right now the focus is on that virus stimulus that the president wants but nancy pelosi says the way hes going about it he cant have, but you tried to be the democrat that turns down a payroll tax cut and Unemployment Benefits that be extended through the rest of the year, although not at the 600 a week level. The president also put them in a box on the issue of stimulus checks.
