CLEVELAND, Ohio There’s never been a better time to be a bike enthusiast in Northeast Ohio. The region is experiencing a trail boom and new plans regularly call for extending the network.
To give you an idea of the major trails available to explore, cleveland.com has compiled a list of 21 bike paths, beginning with the longest.
Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail
1. Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail
Trail mileage: Approx. 101 miles (some incomplete)
Out-and-back ride: Approx. 202 miles
Surface type: Paved, crushed limestone
Ride ideas:
For an urban bike ride, consider starting at the Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation and biking north on the Towpath. If the Center Street Bridge is open, you can make it all the way to Lake Erie.
