Jersey Reds will begin their delayed season away to former European champions Saracens after fixtures for the 2020/21 Greene King IPA Championship campaign were confirmed.
Reds start with a bye week following London Scottish s decision to withdraw from this year s competition, before travelling to the StoneX Stadium to face Saracens on the weekend of 13 March for their first taste of competitive action in over a year.
This is followed by away games against Richmond, Bedford Blues, Doncaster Knights and Ealing Trailfinders before the prospect of a home match against Nottingham on the weekend of 24 April.
writes Phil Westren. Operating under the elite sport framework, the Greene King IPA Championship league will be split into two conferences. Teams will play home and away within their conference producing 10 competition rounds, subsequent to which there will be a two leg play off final between the winner of each league to determine the team that will earn promotion to the Gallagher Premiership for the 2021/22 season. The conferences have been determined by standings when the 2019/2020 season ended in March 2020; with Saracens taking the place of Newcastle Falcons and Richmond replacing Yorkshire Carnegie. Saracens, Cornish Pirates, Ampthill, Jersey Reds, London Scottish and Hartpury will contest Conference A, while Ealing Trailfinders, Coventry, Nottingham, Bedford Blues, Doncaster Knights and Richmond will contest Conference B.

Jersey Reds finally have a start date for their 2020/2021 season - more than a year since they played their last competitive fixture.
The Greene King IPA Championship will get underway on the weekend of Saturday 6 March 2021, under a new conference system.
Each conference will have 10 competition rounds with teams playing home and away fixtures. The winners of each conference will then face off in a two-leg play-off final, with the winners securing promotion to the Gallagher Premiership for the 2021/22 season.
