How COVID-19 lockdown inspired my first book –Taiwo, Atlantic Hall chair Tobi Aworinde Mrs Taiwo Taiwo, Chairman of Atlantic Hall, a co-educational secondary school in Lagos, has said her first book, which is in honour of her mother, was made possible by the COVID-19 lockdown of 2020. Taiwo, whose book, ‘My Mother’s Daughter,’ was unveiled on Tuesday in a virtual ceremony to commemorate her 70th birthday, described her mother, the late Mrs Alice Shonibare, as an enigma. She said, “I had always wanted to write a book about my mother. In fact, when she was alive, I was so intrigued by her that I used to interview her and I had lots of notes – her mother died when she was 13, so she came from that background of being a half-orphan. It was something that really formed her life. She was a fantastic mother because she did not have one.
