Citing poor communication and additional pressure on her budget process throughout the year, Parks and Recreation Director Wendy Buxton announced her resignation effective at the end of May.
When the New Ipswich Board of Selectmen asked Buxton at a May 9 meeting why she was resigning her post, she said, “I hate politics.”
“I’m not really happy about it, but at this point in the game I feel like I don’t really have a choice,” said Buxton, who is staying on as director of the town pool through the end of the 2017 season. “I can’t keep working with people whom I can’t see eye-to-eye with.”
