Lenox Garden Club Announces Winner Of Garden Club Of America s Hull Award

LENOX, Mass. Becky Cushing-Gop, director of Mass Audubon West, is one of the 2021 cohort of winners of the  Elizabeth Abernathy Hull Award, a distinction that comes with a certificate of commendation and $1,000 honorarium from the Garden Club of America.   As director of Mass Audubon West s network of 18 wildlife sanctuaries, which includes Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary in Lenox, Cushing-Gop is the driving force behind the successful Berkshire Environmental Literacy Program, a core component of environmental education for elementary students in western Massachusetts.   Our work with teachers and schools throughout Berkshire County is critically important in providing early childhood experiences in nature and foundational science understanding, said Cushing-Gop. Heidelberg Lounge to host fundraiser to support Weir Family Warriors

Weir Family GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Cascade County continues to rally to support a family in need. This weekend you can help the Weir family, a family of 5 involved in a tragic accident last month along Highway 89. Their father Tyler, who was a Cascade County Search and Rescue Member, and 10- year- old son Wyatt were killed. Their mother and two other children were critically injured and rushed to the hospital. Jen Weir has fought to be released from Benefis in Great Falls to be beside her children, who are fighting to recover at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Saturday the Heidelberg Lounge is hosting a craft beer and craft making fundraiser to support the Weir family. Crafting classes will cost $50 and everyone must send a direct message on Facebook to the Heidelberg Lounge to sign up in advance.

Community rallying to support Weir family

GREAT FALLS, Mont. -  A community in our state is coming together after the tragic loss of a Cascade County Search and Rescue member and his 10-year-old son. Tyler Weir was a three year member of the Great Falls Ski Patrol and a Master Sergeant with 13 years of experience in the Montana Air National Guard. He and his son Wyatt were killed in the crash. He was a valued member of our Ski Patrol, he was a very caring person and wanted to make sure that he could use his talents and abilities to help others when they needed help,” Allan Rabbit with the Great Falls Ski Patrol said.
