Another unhelpful 15-20mm of rain overnight, particularly #gloucestershire & south #worcestershire has caused many smaller rivers to respond & significant flash flooding.
Several new flood alerts & warning issued.
The Environment Agency s Worcestershire and Herefordshire manager, Dave Throup, warned of significant flash flooding in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire.
He tweeted: Another unhelpful 15-20mm of rain overnight, particularly #gloucestershire & south #worcestershire has caused many smaller rivers to respond & significant flash flooding. Several new flood alerts & warning issued.
A yellow warning of heavy rain over Northern Ireland ran until 9am on Thursday.
“Evesham peaked early Friday morning at 2.67m, Bredon peaked on Friday night at 2.96m. “Rain is expected in the next few days which may keep river levels high and we will monitor for any further impacts. “We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. “Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.” The Met Office predicts rain will arrive in Evesham late morning tomorrow (Tuesday, January 25), becoming heavy in the afternoon with a 40 per cent chance or higher of rain through to 8pm. More rain is expected in the early hours of Wednesday morning and then more persistent, heavy rain through the night heading into Thursday morning.
