ANNAPOLIS, Md. While Black Marylanders represent 31% of the state’s population, only 16.8% of Maryland’s vaccines went to people who reported Black ethnicity, Maryland health metrics showed Monday.
The disparity became more dramatic when compared with vaccination rates for Maryland’s white residents. About 58% of the state is white. By Monday, white residents received 59.8% of the state’s vaccines so far.
