Auburn's disc golf course up in the air

A few Auburn council members aren’t sure they want the city to embark on building a disc golf course along with a few other recreational opportunities. A first reading to accept a $25,000 grant from the Department of Local Government under the Land Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965 was tabled by a motion from councilman Mike Rogers who wanted more time to review it. His motion was seconded by councilman Claude Tisdale. Rogers explained he wasn’t sure he wanted to pay for a portion of the project when the city had debt to pay. City clerk Becka Cox explained the debt the city had was water and sewer and was separate. Rogers said he knew that and it was still debt.
