Mrs Val Jones joined Black Lane Primary School in Wrexham in 1962. After 58 years, the midday supervisor retired last month but the school has paid a special tribute to her efforts. Beccy Fox, headteacher, said: She has worked at the school since 1962. Many of the current parents and grandparents remember Mrs Jones as their dinner lady when they attended the school. She has turned up to school everyday for 58 years and looked after many children over the years - this is a massive achievement and everyone at Black Lane thank her for all her work and dedication over the years. We wish her a restful retirement.
