NWS is predicting a brief break in the weather this week in northwest Montana. Forecasters are saying the low temperatures will be in the mid 40s to low 50s while highs will range from about 80 to 90.

More hoot-owl fishing restrictions were put in place by Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks on Wednesday – this time on some of the state’s most popular trout fisheries which the department are already studying due to declining trout populations and warming waters.
While most rivers are still managing to stay somewhat cool, water levels have dropped significantly in the Bitterroot, Beaverhead, Jefferson and rivers, causing them to heat more during the day.
