gratification. you kick the door in guns blazing and whatever happens happens. stop that, he s not my dad. sketches are a really fun way to talk about the culture with a quick turnaround. and i sketch you are satirizing life. satirizing. no, satirizing. my brain hurts. when you know people are improvising you are on the edge of your seats. everything you see tonight is being made up on the spot, we can t stress it enough. where is my mother? you have to go for it, you have to commit. i m rick james,one. we, we are going to do a sketch show. you don t comedy is like a concerto with all of its complications. sketch comedy is like a sex pistol song where people get in and get out and somebody gets hurt. i am so full of anticipation that my genitals are sucked up into my body company. sketches a really great way to deliver, do, because you can say so much. the best come in with a point of view about something they want to say. it makes it does feel any b
television has grown faster than a teenager, and now it is time to grow up. the tv was the center of the house. i don t remember a time without tv. by 1960, essentially every household in america had a television. it was a new way of bringing the world to you. when something big happened on television, it really did happen to the entire country and impacted the entire country at the same time. keep an awakened eye on the world. suddenly television was the main event. everything else changed, even the way in which you went about the business of getting someone elected president. david, will you hit the one-minute button, please. 30 seconds and the cut, please. in 1960, the nixon/kennedy debate was a first in television. a lot of people were watching that night, and it introduced a lot of people to kennedy. would you let me see the tight shot on camera one, please? can you hear me now speaking? is that about the right tone of voice? good evening. the
it was a golden age back then. we were also new to it, we didn t know what to expect, then, as i became less and less comfortable with the existing form of television, started doing different things. now, from beautiful downtown burbank is bird sanctuary and rifle range, nbc presents rowan and martin s laughing. some of the sketches we did were 10 seconds, so when the sketches are 10 minutes, personally, i like brevity. you believe in the hereafter? of course i do. then you know what i am here after. a lot of the pacing and everything was because we cut it up into little bits. and even ernestine, if i did an ernestine monologue me they would cut her up. is this the party to whom i am speaking? mr. williams buckley.
