Kota Kinabalu: The main suspect involved in a riot in Beaufort Jaya on Dec. 19 is believed to have fled to Sarawak and the case is now being investigated under Section 302 for murder following the death Tuesday morning of one of the victims who was slashed on the head.

Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hazani Ghazali said Hobalan N Vello or Jimmy Black, 37, is now on the wanted list and Sarawak police help has been sought to track him and his friend, Kesavan Perambalam, 34.
He said Jimmy is believed to have fled on the night of the incident and checks with various authorities including Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) and Labuan Airport found no record of suspects leaving the state
