One bit of clarity in Dickinson, Scott Shrader won a clear victory against Jessie Brantley for council Position 2. Shrader took almost 55 percent of the vote, according to unofficial returns. Â

In League City, John P. Bowen and Justin A. Hicks won decisive victories for council Positions 4 and 5.
Bowen took almost 59 percent of the vote against Rachel McAdam for Position 4; Hicks took almost 57 percent of the vote against Wes Chorn for Position 5, according to unofficial returns.  Â

In Galveston, incumbents held off challengers in council Districts 3 and 5. Incumbent David Collins won a little more than 54 percent of the vote against challenger Frank Maceo in District 3; incumbent John Paul Listowski won almost 60 percent of the vote against Beau Rawlins in District 5, according unofficial returns.
