Revenues at Christie’s are likely to end the year 25% below 2019 levels amid challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The auction house, which is a privately held unit of Francois Pinault’s Groupe Artémis, will “probably record sales” of £3.4 billion to £3.5 billion (US$4.5 billion to US$4.7 billion) this year once the final auctions of 2020 are complete, Guillaume Cerutti, Christie’s CEO, said in a video call with the press on Tuesday.
