Geoff Little Obe THE coronavirus vaccination programme in Bury is continuing ‘at speed’ with more than 3,000 already immunised and uptake ‘extremely encouraging’, health chiefs said. A fourth vaccination site is set to be opened in Ramsbottom next Monday after the first batches of the Oxford/Astra Zeneca vaccine, the second to be approved in the UK, arrived in the borough earlier this week The expansion of the programme comes as cases of coronavirus increase and hospital admissions due to the virus rise. Earlier this week, the rate of infection in Bury was 327 per 100,000 of population with around 15 per cent of those tested being found to have the virus.
