There s never a good time for a struggling family trying to make ends meet, but the coronavirus crisis has put many more families in need.
Many are reaching out to Beacon Santa, to help provide holiday cheer amid tough times. A difficult year
A mother and father in Maynard described what is now an all-too-familiar situation. It has been a very difficult year.with lost wages, remote learning, and limited childcare, from the coronavirus, they wrote.
They described struggling to provide care for a special needs son, as well as for their daughter and elderly parents who also need care. We have multiple medical appointments that were delayed, due to the coronavirus, they wrote.

For more than 50 years, thousands of people have applied to Beacon Santa, and every year the Beacon Santa has reached out to local residents asking for donations so struggling parents will be able to put a few presents under the Christmas tree.
For each of those years, donors have responded with generosity. We hope you will do the same this year, because without your help the Beacon Santa would cease to exist.
If, however, you are thinking that because of the pandemic your financial future is uncertain, and while you would like to donate, you don’t know if you can come up with the extra money, consider this.
