Tim Walz loosened COVID restrictions, some venues have reopened or are in the process of doing so. The Minneapolis Institute of Art, the Walker Art Center and the American Swedish Institute have recently reopened and the Weisman Art Museum is opening next week. However, the Science Museum of Minnesota and Bell Museum of Natural History are holding out until spring.

American Swedish Institute reopens Saturday with exhibition of funky paper artworks Alicia Eler, Star Tribune Two Swedish artists. One French name. Countless sheets of paper. Swedish artists Bea Szenfeld and Stina Wirsén are obsessed with an unexpected yet completely common material: Paper. Their exhibition Papier (the French word for paper, pronounced paw-pee-YAY ) showcases Szenfeld s haute couture-style sculptural paper fashion artworks and Wirsén s accompanying dreamy ink and watercolor drawings. The artists high-fashion paper garments have been worn by celebrities such as Lady Gaga and Björk. Their exhibit makes its debut Saturday as the American Swedish Institute reopens to the public for the second time in the past year, closing most recently in November in accordance with Gov. Tim Walz s COVID-19 restrictions.
