Okanagan residents are being asked to turn their attention to their emergency preparedness plans this week, with the season for wildfire and extreme weather just around the corner.
More than 100 wildfires are still listed as burning in B.C. thanks to a busy wildfire season, extreme drought and generally warmer and drier conditions through December.
When wildfire started to rip through the Central Okanagan, staff at Kelowna's landfill couldn't do much to stop the $1.4 million in damage that followed.
