The fire to the right on Strawberry Hill was created by a lightning strike on July 1, 2021. About 15 minutes later, the lightning strike in this photo sparked a second blaze at the top of the mountain. It is that blaze that firefighters continue to battle as of July 4. As of noon on July 4, the fire was estimated at five hectares and classified as out of control. The lightning storm led to two more fires to the left of these blazes, but bring downpours of heavy rain amid the thunder and lightning doused those flames.
