Watch: Fake marshal nabbed making a fine attempt

A 19-year-old, who claims he was led into believing that he can become a
BBMP marshal and start collecting fines from people for covid norm violations, got caught in the act in Jayanagar on Wednesday evening.
The cops found the young man, Kiran, loitering about in his slippers with a duplicate radio and a file with BBMP’s logo pasted on it, speaking to the people and asking them to mask up in Jayanagar.
Tilaknagar police, who were on rounds in the area, smelt a rat as the man was not in the uniform and asked him for his ID card. As he could not produce any proof, the police took him to the station. Kiran told the police that he was only spreading awareness using BBMP’s name and had not collected any money from anyone.
