The leaders of the party threatened that if the government did not step back from their decision to increase the price, they would march to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives and submit a memorandum on June 14.
Razekuzzaman said that the poor people living in the city and elsewhere in the country were fighting for livelihood as many of them had lost their earnings or their earnings got reduced alarmingly.
‘The decision to increase the water price was illogical and unethical in this time of the pandemic,’ he said and asked the authority not to increase the price.
