East Ferris Mayor Pauline Rochefort called the position taken by three board members, who formed the majority that voted in favour of charging municipalities that have not agreed to Cassellholme’s preferred way of financing the redevelopment, “enormously disappointing.”

She said while board members do have an obligation to the organization they represent, in her view they also have obligations to their municipalities.
Rochefort added that the municipality’s position on the matter has not changed.
