A handful of stalls will not be trading at this Sunday s Hawke s Bay Farmers Market because of an Anzac Day crossover.
While most businesses must remain closed until 1pm under the Shop Trading Hours Act, the famous weekly-market in Hastings is able to operate.
According to Employment New Zealand guidelines, a shop in a premises where an exhibition or show is taking place, including markets, crafts shows and stalls, is allowed to operate.

Market gardener Tommy Young is down up to $7000 after the Wellington City Council told fruit and vegetable sellers they could not trade at the Sunday Harbourside Market due to COVID-19 restrictions.
While people could buy hot chips in beef tallow at Wellington’s Harbourside Market on Sunday, lettuce and other vegetables were out of the question. Wellington City Council got in touch with stallholders on Saturday night, after Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern moved most of the country to alert level 2, telling stallholders that if they ran food stalls they could operate the next day but fruit and vegetable sellers could not.
