BAY CITY, MI - Some business owners in downtown Bay City are upset by the city’s recent decision to change standard traffic lights at the district’s main intersections to flashing yellow and red signals.
The Bay City Commission unanimously approved a traffic control order in November based on an engineering study that said four-way stops aren’t needed. Several signals now act as two-way stops, with flashing yellows on Washington, one of the city’s main thoroughfares.
“People cannot turn left, they can’t see – I’m very worried about someone getting hit or killed to tell you the truth,” said Barbara Bosco, owner and president of Herman Hiss & Co., 905 Washington Ave.
