BAXTER SPRINGS, Kan. (KOAM) — A historic groundbreaking on Tuesday for a brand new fire station to be built in town. Their current station was built in 1926.
CHEROKEE COUNTY, Kan. — About 6 p.m. Friday evening reports of a two vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer and pickup west of Baxter Springs, Kan. alerted Cherokee County E-911.
"The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Excelsior Springs Missouri Police Department with a reported kidnapping and sexual assault investigation in the 300 block of Old Orchard. A woman reported to Excelsior Springs Police at 7:47 a.m. [Friday, Oct 7] that she had been held against her will and sexually assaulted."
