The police in Bauchi State have arrested a herbalist, 28, for allegedly killing four children, between the ages of 2 and 4 for ritual purposes.
According to the police spokesperson, Ahmed Wakil, the suspected ritualist, Rufa’i Yunusa, of Rumbu village, in the Ningi Local Government of Bauchi State, was arrested on Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
The spokesperson said the arrest followed a complaint by one Isyaku Ahmed of Kafin Madaki, that the suspect allegedly deceived him that his daughter was suffering from an ailment that required spiritual intervention.
SP Wakil said Yunusa, however, killed the child after the father released her to him for the healing process.

The Police in Niger State has arrested four suspects allegedly in possession of firearms and recovering thirteen locally fabricated guns from them.
Parading the suspects at the state Police Head Quarters in Minna, the Commissioner of Police, CP. Adamu Usman said the suspects were arrested for unlawful possession of firearms.
He stated that three suspects John age 25yrs, Shugaba of Sarkin-Pawa, Joshua Bala age 24yrs, Titus Ishaku age 25yrs both of Gwagwada Chukun LGA of Kaduna State were arrested in Sarkin-Pawa Munya LGA.
“The suspects were arrested with eleven locally fabricated guns at Sabon-gari area of Sarkin Pawa which were concealed in a bag of sawdust.”
Police burst 23-man gang terrorising Bauchi metropolis

The Bauchi State Police Command on Friday said operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) arrested 23 suspects notorious for terrorising some parts of Bauchi, the state capital.
This was contained in a press release signed and made available to DAILY POST by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ahmed Mohammed Wakil.
According to Wakil, the suspects were nabbed during a raid of criminal hideouts and black spots in Bauchi metropolis, adding that they had been perpetrating heinous crimes against the peace-loving people of the state.
