plagued the president in lots of different ways. we re going to see what happens next here. there was a delegation of diplomats set to meet with the national security adviser today, this afternoon, to talk about the hostages that are from their countries. we also know that there was a delegation slated to go to the middle east next week as well to engage in some more talks and conversations around a deal coming together, and so the administration still has this very robust presence in trying to make this happen, and we ll be looking to see whether there s a response to any degree from hamas in the days to come. aaron gilchrist, thank you for that. claire mccaskill, i want to go to you. i want to talk about the president s statements, they were forceful but brief on donald trump s trial and conviction. you spent many years in the senate. if i m remembering correctly, you were on the armed services committee, homeland security committee. this is an area of the world that yo
working. you mentioned some of the people in nevada that are still working, rebecca lamb, of course, who was a long-standing star, becca kirshner katz, senior adviser for the letterman campaign. the legacy is having a huge impact. i know your project you did a lot of work canvassing, knocking on doors, getting young people out to vote. what lessons do you take away from that experience talking to young voters, particularly voters of color? sure. i had two lessons learned. one, nevada, it s a purple state, a tough state, you have to have a broad coalition, and senator cortez masto assembled that. the other thing is the nonpartisan group continues to grow and be sizable. northern nevada did all their canvassing in a critical battleground county that senator cortez masto delivered. it s going to be important as democrats compete statewide there they continue to talk to

we ve said it over and over again, those senate races in arizona and nevada could very well determine which party controls the senate, so, let s drill down tonight. where are these votes still left to be counted? what could this mean for these candidates? rick klein at the big board again tonight. election night couple nights ago. still there and we appreciate it, rick. arizona first. we re still waiting for thousands of votes in two key counties? yeah, and we got a large number of votes just out of pima county, the tucson area, and that has extended mark kelly s lead to almost 100,000 votes. the big county that we re waiting on now, maricopa, the phoenix area. that s where we re talking about hundreds of thousands of votes. as you can see, david, that county went for mark kelly, but it is a battleground county. because the votes were late arriving, a lot of them were republicans who were dropping off their ballots on election day. so, it s possible that that lead narrows as the coun
