should do some kind of compromise and get something out of this and show the american people they were willing to work with him instead of keep the government open for months. surely they know the public blames president trump for the shutdown. you can tell from this televised meeting yesterday with his acting cabinet that he does not see any political pain from a shutdown. he thinks his 38% of the country is with him, and that he is fine on that, and that it s a fight worth having to shore up his base, and he does not yet understand that senate republicans soon will not be able to continue to say no to all of the bills that house democrats come their way. i think he will feel it in a few day but not now. we saw one of the reasons there s a deal yet, the president undercut vice president mike pence multiple times yesterday, rejecting the $2.5 billion that pence had been up on the hill floating, and
states, it would be twice that many women, but baby steps. it s the most women ever. what changes? that s an interesting question. it s remarkable that nancy pelosi is the first ever speaker of the house, woman, and she is coming back to that role after eight years with 89 democratic women in her caucus. you will see more of them on the news taking part in a national conversation, and as you mentioned, all the diversity, even within the democratic caucus, two muslim women and two native american women, and it s very fortunate for the republican conference in the house that they are down to 13 women, and they lost members who were defeated and also departed as well to run for other offices
