The 'batterygate' lawsuit was a result of Apple slowing down users' iPhones without informing them that their iPhones were being throttled down after their batteries degraded.
Currently teased in an upcoming Pixel release, the Android update aims to simplify battery health monitoring by introducing a dedicated Battery Health page.
The new battery health features in Android will provide information such as the estimated percentage of charge the battery can currently hold compared to when it was new, and may also show if the original battery has been replaced.
