Two children one of them a kindergartener were killed and their father was burned when a fire raced through their Chula Vista home early Thursday, fire officials said.
The fire was reported around 12:25 a.m. at a two-story house on Coralwood Court, off Sandalwood Drive.

When firefighters arrived, the house was engulfed in fire, with flames showing from the front of the house, Chula Vista fire Capt. Linda D’Orsi said.

The father of the children suffered burn injuries and was transported by paramedics to the UCSD Burn Center to be treated. His condition and the extent of his injuries were not known, D’Orsi said.
