Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has stated that no additional water will be shared with any other state at any cost. The state cabinet has also approved Gurminder Singh for the advocate general s post. The meeting discussed the Sutlej-Yamuna-Link (SYL) canal issue. This comes after the Supreme Court directed the Centre to survey the land allocated for the canal s construction. Punjab s political parties have stated that they have no additional water to share, while Haryana s parties have welcomed the court s directions.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann declared this after an emergency meeting of the state cabinet at his residence, the meeting comes a day after Supreme Court asked Centre to continue the mediation process to resolve the dispute between Haryana and Punjab over SYL canal issue
