(Buchanan, Grand Bassa County):President George Manneh Weah and entourage Wednesday, April 21, 2021 entered Grand Bassa County to tsunamic welcome by citizens and residents who lined the tarmac pavement and waived palm branches from the border with Margibi County to Fair Ground in Buchanan City. On arrival at the outskirt of Buchanan City, the presidential convoy got clogged into crowds of locals, including students, women, traditional chiefs and zoes and local government authority headed by Superintended Janjay Baikpeh, who turned out to receive the President.

Buchanan Buchanan City, Grand Bassa was a colorful place on Wednesday, February 17, after the Grand Bassa Community College allowed 218 students to leave its walls with degrees in different disciplines.

The Wednesday graduation was the fifth commencement of the college since it was established in 2008.
Out of the 218, 75 graduated obtaining associate degree in Nursing, while 30 earned associate degree in Agriculture. Several others earned associate degrees in Business Administration, Teaching Education and Sociology.
Graduates of the Information Communications Technology (ICT) and Engineering departments earned certificates in their respective area of studies.

Buchanan – The coordinator of the disabled community in Grand Bassa County has said the many challenges they are enduring are making their future bleak.
Jerry Laffa added that those of them seeking tertiary education are being denied access.
Laffa lamented, “It is difficult for us to attend the [community] college due to the distance, damaged bridge and the college loop structures are not disabled-friendly.”
