A ‘MEAN’ dad-to-be who stole vital laptops meant to help under-privileged children during the coronavirus pandemic spat at a police officer while he was being arrested. Cy Holt targeted schools in Accrington, Burnley and Colne causing thousands of pounds of damage and stole vital equipment needed by children for home schooling. At Burnley Crown Court, the Honorary Recorder of Preston Judge Robert Altham described Holt’s offending as ‘particularly mean and low’ while jailing him for three-and-a-half years. It was heard the drug addict, who has previous convictions for school break-ins, had been on bail at the time for assaulting four police officers.
