The University of Louisiana women’s basketball program was set to play in the Cajundome this week.
That will not happen after the two-game series against the UT Arlington Mavericks was postponed on Wednesday due to COVID-19 concerns within the Lady Mavs’ basketball program.
The Ragin’ Cajuns were scheduled to play UT Arlington on Friday, Jan. 15, at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Cajundome.
Louisiana head basketball coach Garry Brodhead released the following statement on the postponement:
“It is unfortunate that we now have a second conference series postponed, but the health and wellness of all involved continues to be our top priority. Our team will prepare for a return to competition as we look ahead to our series at Arkansas State next weekend.”
The University of Louisiana women’s basketball team’s game at Little Rock has been postponed.
The Ragin’ Cajuns announced on Thursday that the team’s two-game Sun Belt Conference series with the Trojans had been postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the Little Rock’ program.
The SBC will work with the two programs on rescheduling the series for a later date.
“We are obviously disappointed we will not be able to travel to Little Rock, but the health and wellness of our student-athletes and staff continue to be our top priority,” Cajuns coach Garry Brodhead said. “We look forward to getting back onto the court to continue our season next weekend at home against UT Arlington.”
